Terms and Conditions
W² Education Terms and Conditions
W² Education is dedicated to providing a supportive and rigorous learning environment. Students, parents and guardians must understand and agree to these terms regarding enrolment, event registration, payment, cancellations, content, privacy and website use.
Conditions of entry
Enrolment in a course, or registration for an event, requires the necessary personal and academic information, agreement to the applicable fees and acceptance of these terms. W² Education reserves the right to refuse enrolment or registration based on factors such as capacity, academic suitability or other educational considerations.
Trial classes
A trial class is obligation-free. Attending one does not commit the student to enrolment, and no fees are payable for it. Places in trial classes are subject to availability in the relevant class.
Student conduct
- Attendance. Students are expected to arrive punctually and prepared with the required materials. Repeated unexcused absence or lateness may affect progression and may lead to a review of enrolment.
- Homework. Assignments are to be completed independently and submitted on time. Late or low-effort submissions may receive reduced feedback at staff discretion.
- Academic integrity. Dishonest conduct, including plagiarism or cheating, is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to removal from a course or event. W² Education does not report such instances to schools, and disclaims liability for consequences imposed by third-party institutions.
- Respect and behaviour. Mutual respect is required. Inappropriate language, disruptive behaviour or repeated disturbances may result in warnings or removal.
- Electronic devices. Mobile phones and electronic devices are not to be used during lessons or exam sessions unless approved for educational purposes. Audio or video recording, photography, live streaming or transcription of lesson content is not permitted. Students may photograph whiteboard content during breaks.
- Personal belongings. W² Education excludes responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
- Food and drink. Consumption is permitted only during designated breaks. Water is permitted during lessons. Students are expected to keep the premises clean.
- Presentation. Students are expected to present in a manner appropriate to a learning environment.
Ownership of materials
All content provided by W² Education, including course notes, homework, quizzes, exam papers, marking reports, seminar materials and other resources, is and will remain the exclusive property of W² Education. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution or publication of any material, including exam papers from the HSC Premiere and HSC Masterclass, may result in disciplinary and legal action.
Course fees and payment
- Payment schedule. Course fees are invoiced by term. Late payments may incur fees. Outstanding balances may result in suspension of services and recovery of the amount owed, including reasonable costs.
- Fee adjustments. W² Education reserves the right to amend pricing for courses, materials and services. A minimum of 14 days’ notice is given for changes to course fees.
- Replacement classes. Make-up classes are offered subject to availability. Rescheduling outside normal arrangements may incur an administration fee.
- Changes to course details. W² Education may amend course times, content, teaching staff or lesson durations. Where a course is cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrolment, staff illness or unforeseeable circumstances, an alternative or a refund of the affected lessons will be provided.
- Referral rewards. Referral programs, where offered, are subject to their own terms, which may change.
HSC Premiere and other exam events
- Registration. A place is confirmed when payment is completed through our online checkout and a receipt is issued. Registrations are for the named student only.
- Prices. All event prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Early-bird pricing applies to registrations completed before the published deadline and is not applied retrospectively.
- Cancellation. Registration fees are not refundable. A place may be transferred to another student, at W² Education’s discretion, if we are told by email before the student’s first exam session. No refund or credit is given for non-attendance.
- Changes by us. If W² Education cancels or reschedules an exam session, registered students may transfer to the new date or receive a full refund for the affected session.
- Marking and reports. Papers are marked to the standard of the HSC marking guidelines by W² Education staff. Results, ranks and cohort distributions are provided for the student’s own preparation and are not an official NESA assessment. Reports are emailed to the address given at registration, normally within 7 days of the seminar.
- HSC Masterclass invitations. Invitations are extended at W² Education’s discretion, normally to the top 10 students in each paper. Ties and edge cases are decided by W² Education, and its decision is final.
- Exam conduct. Exam sessions are run under exam conditions. Students who breach exam conditions may have their paper withdrawn from ranking.
Student recognition
W² Education may highlight student results in promotional materials, with prior consent, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Students and their parents or guardians may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us, and we will anonymise the result rather than remove the achievement.
Termination of enrolment
Enrolment may be terminated for non-compliance with these terms, outstanding fees or academic dishonesty.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy details how we collect, use and safeguard your personal information. By entering the premises, students and guardians acknowledge that CCTV operates for safety and security.
Liability and disclaimers
- Website. We take reasonable measures to keep the website secure and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Use of the website is at your own risk.
- External links. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites.
- Intellectual property. All content on the W² Education website, including text, graphics, logos and images, is owned by or licensed to W² Education. Unauthorised use is prohibited.
- Exclusion of liability. W² Education is not liable for injuries, losses or damages arising from participation in its programs or events unless they are the direct result of W² Education’s negligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for indirect, incidental or consequential loss is excluded, and liability is otherwise capped at the amount paid for the service in dispute.
- Indemnity. Students and their parents or guardians agree to indemnify W² Education against claims or expenses arising from a breach of these terms or misuse of our services.
Legal
- Consumer guarantees. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If any provision is found to be unfair or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
- Dispute resolution. We seek to resolve disputes through open communication. Where that fails: written notice to the administration outlining the dispute, then mediation proposed by W² Education in good faith, then legal proceedings in the courts of New South Wales if the matter remains unresolved.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Amendments
These terms may be modified at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through our website. Continued participation after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. These terms constitute the complete agreement between W² Education and the student and their parents or guardians. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our rights under it.
